Plus Delta Partners was founded on the principle that it is possible to create positive change in human behavior, specifically amongst advancement professionals. We recognize that we have not always been at the vanguard of important conversations about equity and justice. We haven’t always known what to say, or how to show up or speak up. We recognize and take ownership of the fact that, even as we grow personally and as a firm, we will have blind spots, inherent biases, and opportunities for growth.

Our goal is to commit to confronting systemic racism and increasing equity and inclusion for all people, especially BIPOC, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and other marginalized groups, in our industry, our community, and our society.

We will rigorously review ourselves and our work, continue to learn from our biases and mistakes, and improve our ability to serve the increasingly diverse philanthropic community, the profession of fundraising, and the communities in which we live and work.

As an action-focused firm, we are committed to:

Internal/Individual Growth

  • In 2021, our staff completed a 4-month program to raise our awareness of white privilege, implicit bias, microaggressions, and how racist structures are perpetuated in society.

  • In Summer of 2023, we launched a year-long partnership with a DEI expert.  During the partnership, we participated in group discussions, facilitated sessions, and personal exploration activities all designed to help us grow as people and a as a firm.

  • Plus Delta dedicates portions of our Knowledge Management meetings and Staff Meetings to DEI topics related to our own awareness and growth as consultants.

  • In 2026, we are continuing our investment in this work through a partnership with a firm that focuses on inclusion strategies for the non-profit sector.

Curriculum/Coaching Review and Revision

  • Plus Delta Partners continues its review of all curricular items and coaching approaches. Through 2025, eight significant alterations to our core curriculum have been made and others are under consideration.

  • Our goal is to eliminate non-inclusive elements and improve our ability to serve a diverse client base.

Building Diversity Within Plus Delta and Throughout the Advancement Industry

  • As the advancement profession strives to diversify staffing to better represent the diversity of society, our firm is also committed to the diversification of our firm to represent our society and the clients we serve.  We have taken positive steps forward in this area through hiring, and we will continue to recruit with representation as part of our process.

  • We will develop partnerships with clients and non-client organizations to build new pathways that diversify recruiting and hiring.

    • The Plus Delta Partners Fellows program was created for first-time, BIPOC fundraisers. These Fellows will participate in the nine-month, Discipline of Frontline Fundraising program pro bono. Through 2025, 19 Fellows have participated in the program.

    • The Fellows program represents a potential $200,000 per year commitment on behalf of Plus Delta.

  • We are committed to playing our part in preparing, mentoring and championing diverse professionals for success, especially those who are new to the industry.

Plus Delta Partners is committed to inclusion and equity. We have established an internal DEI working group to coordinate these ongoing efforts.  We encourage and invite feedback on how we can do better in our work to make positive change for our clients and our communities.

Take your next steps towards positive change.
