“The pathway into the fundraising profession is not always straight or smooth. Skill building is often “learn on the job” or “sink or swim," and, donors can sometimes be challenging. I am proud of the work we do at Plus Delta Partners to offer a better path forward, to demystify a complex process, and to provide tools for success.”
Chris brings more than 15 years of experience in higher education administration and fundraising to Plus Delta. As a fundraiser, manager and teacher, Chris has managed fundraising programs and teams with an eye towards maximizing fundraiser effectiveness to the benefit of the donor and the institution.
Chris’ prior experience includes serving as the Executive Director of Constituent Giving Programs at Villanova University, where he and his team quadrupled fundraising productivity and contributed to a doubling of major gifts on an annual basis by focusing on accountability, professional development and skill building. Previously, Chris was the Associate Director of Development and External Affairs for the University Libraries and then Director of Major Gifts for the Provost’s Area at the University of Pennsylvania. Chris has also offered courses on the philanthropic process primarily at the University of Pennsylvania’s Higher Education Management Program in the Graduate School of Education. Author of three articles, co-author of another and co-author of one book chapter, he has presented workshops and sessions at national conferences on both fundraising and student affairs.
Chris holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of Virginia where he studied the motivations of high capacity donors. He earned a M.Ed. in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration from the University of Vermont and a B.A. in Chemistry with a specialization in Biochemistry from the University of Virginia.
